Dynamic Currency Conversion

Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is an innovative service that enables merchants to offer international credit cardholders the option to complete credit card purchases in their "home" currency at the point-of-sale.

DCC supports currencies that represent over 80% of all U.S. initiated foreign transactions:
  • $ Australian Dollar (AUD)
  • £ British Pound (GBP)
  • $ Canadian Dollar (CAD)
  • € EURO (EUR)
  • ¥ Japanese Yen (YEN)

DCC Authorizations

Once the cardholder's home currency is established - the credit card processing system knows it is an international card -, the cardholder is presented the option to complete the transaction "real-time" in their home currency or in U.S. dollars with the conversion applied later by the associations and card issuer. The point-of-sale terminal can even obtain the foreign exchange rate and converted currency transaction amount before the authorization.
